Hachimanguu
Then we headed for Hachimannguu shrine; it's ready for "bon bori matsuri", celebrating the going summer and coming autumn. We've heard that they're gonna light hanging lanterns around 6PM, so we spent some time in the shrine, visited Kamakura shirts shop, then went to Bowls to have dinner.

We enjoyed "bon bori matsuri" which starts today and lasts for 3 days, until Tuesday. The thunder was rumbling around 7PM, so we just took a quick look, and then went back to our home.

After the typhoon passed, the waves were small but the water surface was beautiful - it's nice for slow and relaxed surfing. Water temperature was a bit lower than usual.

Surfing on June 26, 2011

I arrived at the same old parking lot around 4:53AM but it was full. So I go down the Wakamiya oodori street to Tsurugaoka Hachimanguu shrine and found another one on the right hand side. I've enjoyed surfing from 5:40AM to 8:00AM. Forecasted temperature was 21 centigrade at 6 o'clock. Water was warm.

Waves were good for the beginning of 2011 season!

Cherry blossoms have started losing its petals; young leaves are budding. It's beautiful.

A prepared food shop by a long-established kamaboko shop in Kamakura. Kamaboko is fish minced and steamed. We bought minced fish and roll cabbage with tofu; we enjoyed them in dinner!

Wabisuke

After shopping at IKEA Kohoku and Yamada Denki at Totsuka, we visited Wabisuke and had a nice zaru soba(Normal 900 JPY, Large 1050 JPY). We also ordered cooked polk (buta no kakuni); it's tasty, but was a bit expensive (1,300 JPY) considering its quantity..
We really like the Wabisuke's Japanese old-fashioned farm house.

Soutatu(宗達): dried kelp (konbu, 昆布) and white rice!

I and my wife ate Kuromatsu Soft, dried kelp flavored with the use of soft-shelled turtle soap. It was tasty!

Kita Kamakura - Kamakura - Zushi

I, my wife, and our baby girl went to a cafe/gallery, NEST in Kita Kamakura. They have American shorthair cats there. Their cheese cake (500 JPY) was good; coffee was not bad, or may be not worth 500 JPY, honestly speaking.

Then we entered Tokeiji (東慶寺) Temple for 100 JPY per person(excluding a baby!).

Some ume (Japanese plum) have already bloomed! I'm looking forward to bloomy spring.

Next, we went to Soutatu(宗達) and bought dried kelp (konbu, 昆布); I enjoyed their products when I used ANA's business class to New York City and I have been wanting to have it again. Only their products and steaming rice must be enough!

Finally, Meshiyacchan! Both I and my wife enjoyed Kaisen-don (海鮮丼), 980 JPY. We really like it. The kind and friendly server was nice as usual and gave our daughter a little present (a ball which flashes when being bounced):-)

Michel Nakajima

I and my wife visited this Michelin 1-star French restaurant for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. My mother-in-law took care of our daughter at our home. Our impression was that "it was really something." All the dishes were so tasty and carefully cooked. We spent 2-hour there and enjoyed these great work and relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely visit this restaurant again!

Avant amuse: traditional Japanese radish in Kyoyo (Shogo in daikon, 聖護院大根)
